When you are charged
Every campaign is all-or-nothing. Your card is charged only if the campaign meets its goal, and then only when the rules of its mode say so.
Ship pledge
Your card is charged once the product is proven live.
- You pledge. Your card is saved, and nothing is charged.
- The campaign ends. If the goal is met, the campaign is funded.
- The founder proves the launch and an operator confirms it (see launch proof and deadlines).
- Your card is charged.
If the founder does not launch by the launch deadline, the pledge is released and your card is never charged. A founder may extend the deadline once.
Build fund
Your card is charged when the campaign ends, if the goal is met. The founder shows a working prototype from the start, so you can try what you are paying to finish.
If the goal is missed
If the campaign ends below its goal, every pledge is released. Nobody is charged.
Which amount is charged
You are charged the price of the reward you picked, shown at checkout. The campaign page and the checkout always say which mode applies and the date it ends.
When a payment fails
Your card can be refused when it is charged, for example because it expired or needs your confirmation.
- The pledge moves to Payment due and you receive an email with a link.
- Open My pledges and choose Pay now to confirm the payment or use another card.
- You can also withdraw the pledge instead, while your right to withdraw lasts.
Currency
A campaign is priced in the currency of the founder's payout account, EUR or USD. The checkout shows the amount in that currency.
