# Payout account

> Connect a Stripe account before your first campaign. Backers pay you directly, and fundmysaas never holds the money.

Backers' payments go straight to your own Stripe account. You set it up once, from **Payouts** in the dashboard, before your first campaign can go live.

## How the money flows

fundmysaas uses Stripe Connect with **direct charges**. Each charge is created on your Stripe account, so:

- you are the merchant and the seller: the contract, the invoice and the VAT are yours;
- fundmysaas takes its [fee](https://fundmysaas.io/docs/fees) from each charge, through Stripe, and nothing else;
- fundmysaas never holds, moves or pays out backers' money;
- refunds and chargebacks are taken from your Stripe balance;
- you keep the full Stripe Dashboard for your payments, payouts and receipts.

Stripe collects its own processing fees from your account under your agreement with Stripe.

## Set it up

1. Create an account on fundmysaas and an organization for your product. The owner of the organization sets up payouts; other members cannot.
2. Open **Payouts**, pick the country where your business is registered (in Europe; it cannot change later) and choose **Set up payouts**.
3. Complete Stripe's onboarding: your identity, your business details and your bank account. Stripe does the identity check.
4. Come back to **Payouts**. The page reads your account from Stripe each time you open it.

## The states of the account

A campaign cannot be submitted until the state is **Active**.

## Name and currency

Your legal name, address and country come from Stripe and are shown to backers as the seller. A campaign is priced in the currency of your payout account, EUR or USD, and the goal, the rewards and the charges all use it.

## Roles

- The **owner** sets up the payout account.
- **Owners and admins** write products, campaigns and rewards.
- Every member can read them.
