# Backer grades

> The badge that grows with the amount you have backed and not had refunded, and what it does and does not give.

Every backer has a grade. It is a badge shown next to your name in the list of backers of a campaign, unless you chose to hide your name.

## What counts

Only money that was charged and not refunded counts. An amount counts from its charge and leaves the total when it is refunded or withdrawn, whether or not the reward was delivered. A pledge that was only saved or released does not count.

## What a grade gives

A grade is a platform badge and nothing more. It is never sold, and it gives no discount, no bonus and no financial advantage. A reward costs the same for every backer.
